US expat starting at top bank next year - can I do on-cycle?
I'm a US citizen living overseas, starting at a top BB's top group in a smaller market (not London/HK). I really want to move into a top buyout MF in NYC, since the buyouts in my current area are usually a lot smaller and the big ones are much less frequent.
Do I have any chance at getting my name in the running during the typical NYC on-cycle process, or is off-cycle my only shot? I'm confident that I can ace interviews but I'm know that realistically geography would be a huge mitigating factor.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
