U.S. Salaries for European MBAs

I'm an American currently doing my MBA at ESADE in Europe and plan to go back to America to search for a job once I finish. I've seen salary reports for similarly ranked schools such as NYU but am not sure if I would be offered a similar amount (looking specifically in NYC since this is where I'm from). Although my school is ranked on par with many Ivy League schools, it is not as well known in America. My background is in finance and I would be looking for a job in this area but am not sure how much to ask for. I would like to get a well paying job but am somewhat concerned that if I ask for a NYU type of salary, that recruiters will be turned off due to a lack of name recognition for my MBA in America. Any suggestions? Anyone faced a similar situation?
