Other than that, Canadians shall qualify for TN, O, H1b, and family based sponsorship. Not sure if Canadians qualify for the DV lottery, I assume not (but I don't know it).
I’m not sure what is going on, I just want to know how much easier it is for CAD’s to get in with Biden. One if my CAD friends who went to a top target in the US got rejected from every CAD bank (NY offices) he applied to.
I can't really tell how the job market is currently for people who require sponsorship. Sad to hear about your friend, did he receive any feedback at all? Was his sponsorship requirement the deal breaker or something else?
We have Canadian colleagues in the US on various visa, but they were pre-pandemic hires.
Yeah they cited visas as a potential problem. Worst part is that there really is nothing available in Canada
So this kind of feedback is valuable for internationals who require sponsorship. And Canadians, while "international", at least have the TN option if the employer is willing to go forward with it. TN is no longer "the easy way in" and rejections have increased, but with a really good employer letter and a job designation that qualifies according to the list.. it might work.
