Investment banking doesn't exist in Ireland. Yes there are big investment banks with offices here, but it is all back office
Just curious, wouldn't there be some very small IBs in Dublin at least?
Else how would local companies in republic of Ireland raise capital, issue bonds or trade public shares?
I can't imagine the investment banking sector in Republic of Ireland being much smaller than Nigeria for instance which still has like 50 tiny IBs in only 1 or 2 cities despite having a shallow banking market. Or is it that all firms in the Republic of Ireland simply reach out to London when they require investment banking services (do you mean that Republic of Ireland is so closely integrated with Britain for such business purposes)?
Yes there are smaller ones but there are no big 'investment banks' here. Work is done by big 4 accounting firms or smaller corporate finance houses
