Walmart Merchandising Operations Analyst internship summer 2021

I've applied for Finance internship with Walmart but recruiters recently reached out to me and suggested to consider Walmart Merchandising Operations Analyst internship. Have no idea what it is. I've always assumed merchandising in Walmart is a part-time job in local stores where folks place items on displays. The basic description is at the link below for returning interns but idea is the same. It has lots of nice words like analytics, data mining, strategy etc in its description. But what is it in reality?
