What can I do to prepare for IB internship?

I recently landed a summer 2021 IB internship and am excited to start next summer. however is there any skills that I should be preparing now to possibly get ‘ahead of the curve’? I have a solid understanding of economics and intermediate excel skills. I follow the news very closely and am wondering if there are any concrete skills that I should add to my pallet over the course of this summer while I have extra time on my hands. ~cheers!

I’m in a similar position and got my offer a little over a month ago. I don’t think we’ll need to do too much to prepare, so I’m working on learning at my own pace. I’ve started reading every day and it’s been great, so I highly recommend that. I’m also working on my excel and PowerPoint skills and trying to learn new formulas/memorizing shortcuts. Other than all that I’m just hoping to relax a little bit, as it feels weird to not be networking/studying for interviews anymore since I spent so much time doing that for the past several months.

I’ve already gotten my group placement, so I’m not networking within the bank as of now. I’m going to reach out to a an MD and a couple Analysts in my group that I liked from networking/interviews at the end of the summer to catch-up. I will probably do this again in January of next year.

How are you going about it?
