What is an entry level position for Corporate Banking
Guys I need help finding a way into the corporate financing world, its something I enjoy and would like to transition into from what I'm doing now. I've worked for about a year at a BB in the wealth management space, I have an economics degree from a non-target and I am taking my CFA in December.
I know the pecking order goes like IBD > Corporate Banking > Commercial Banking
I am hoping to get in at the Corporate Banking level if possible. What would be the title of the job position reserved for those with little banking experience?
Analyst, Credit Analyst, Market Risk Analyst, whatever it is it will likely have analyst in the title.
I assume that by "Commercial Banking", you're actually referring to "Retail Banking"...?
Note that "corporate finance" and "corporate banking" are separate areas, and you should take note of that fact when perusing job openings...

OP, I think you're referring to corporate finance right?
I'm talking about positions that are NOT retail and are a cut below IBD, my understanding is that corporate banking deals with revenue size of 2-5 billion and commercial banking deals with 2 billion and under. However the skill set involved is very similar to IBD.
No corporate finance is working for a f500 I want to work for a bank in their. Corporate/commercial lending side and hopefully move into IBd
Harkkam they are correct banks are broken into 2 areas IB and Retail. IB is M&A, ECM/DCM, S&T, PWM, ER and AM. Retail is mortgages, checking, retirement (for net worth of less than 1MM), business lending (which may include more complex products like revolvers and the like).
