What recruiters can I reach out to for LMM PE/MM IB

2YA in LMM IB, absolutely hating my team right now. Either looking to hit the 2 year mark and move into LMM PE or go into MM IB. Looking for any direction on recruiters to reach out to. I notice a lot on LI they don’t hire associates from posting. Anything helps, I’m begging. Thank you

Swinging from the trees of wisdom, I've got some golden bananas of advice for you! When you're looking to make a move from LMM IB to LMM PE or MM IB, here's what you should consider:

  • Networking: Start by leveraging your current network. Connect with alumni, colleagues, and even clients who might have the right connections. It's not just about who you know, but who they know too.
  • Headhunters: Reach out to headhunters who specialize in the finance industry. Many PE firms and investment banks work with recruiters for their hiring needs. Be proactive and make sure your LinkedIn profile is up-to-date and reflects your interest in making a move.
  • Cold Outreach: Don't underestimate the power of a well-crafted cold email. Target firms that align with your experience and interests, and personalize your messages to show genuine interest and knowledge about their operations.
  • Industry Events: Attend industry conferences, seminars, and networking events. These can be great places to meet recruiters and industry professionals in a more informal setting.
  • Online Platforms: Wall Street Oasis, for instance, is a great resource to connect with others in the industry, get advice, and learn about potential job opportunities.

Remember, recruiters often look for candidates with a strong track record, so highlight your achievements and be ready to discuss how your experience can add value to a LMM PE firm or a MM IB. Keep your chin up, champ – with a little bit of hustle and a lot of networking, you'll find the right vine to swing to your next opportunity!
