So I got in touch with a guy who works in IB as an analyst, he offered to have a chat on the phone with me about IB etc.
Now I am trying to think of some good topics to discuss and questions to ask him?

Ask about the group and his experience so far. Size of the group, product mix (M&A vs ECM vs DCM), cross-staffing with product teams (mostly M&A) and whether they hold the model, workstream split etc. Do some research on recent deals by the group and ask a couple of qus on that. Culture vs other groups, recruiting and so on.
