What to do?

TLDR: NURM rising Sophomore interested wanting to go into IB. Studying econ and something humanities at Cornell 4.0 GPA with some leadership positions in speaking-related activities and newspaper activities. Starting studying technicals hard this summer. Working this summer, but not in finance. I am Sending emails for coffee chats like crazy right now and applying to sophomore jobs. What are the chances I break into investment banking? I feel like its going to be an insane uphill climb.

You actually have a decent amount of time to prep into your jr year internship. It just feels like an insane uphill battle because you're starting and yes, it will be a grind from the start to the end but the hardest part is getting into the swing of things. Try seeing if you can set something up finance-related during the school year and definitely get involved on-campus with finance clubs.
