What to do next?

My role is as an S&T Summer Analyst this Summer, but I'm sure many people were in the same spot for IBD.

I currently have a Summer Analyst Position currently for 2021 and I'm not really sure what to do next. Do I apply for Summer Analyst positions at different banks for 2022 since most of the recruiting happens early? Should be applying for full-time positions for 2022, Summer analyst for 2022, or waiting until I finish this Summer and see if I get a full-time offer before trying new banks?

What year are you? If you're a sophomore then you could apply for summer 2022. If you're a junior, I'd relax for two seconds. You do your summer internship this summer (2021) and then you can apply to different banks for FT, if you'd like, in the fall (2021). Banks aren't hiring for FT 2022 right now.

Junior currently. Thanks for the insight, I was enthused to take my position this summer but then reality set in of how fast-paced recruiting is and if I'd be missing out, etc., and wasn't sure what to do next. So thanks!
