What to do now?

I'm an incoming sophomore transfer at a non-target (US news top 35, i know this is meaningless as im still at a non-target) & currently taking a LOA due to my mandatory service. I get discharged in may 2022 and will return back to school in sep 2022.

Ideally I want to land an internship right after my discharge (ofc i understand landing an IB internship will be very difficult); What should I do during my remaining military service to get on the best possible track for breaking into IB?

As of now

-I am studying for the CFA lvl 1

- Cold-emailing school alumns / my current unit alums (some sort of special forces unit)

(thankfully most led to a nice 30 minute phone conversation)

- refurbishing my excel skills

& I've been doing "military stuff" :0
