What to do sophomore summer

I just finished sophomore year and have signed an IB SA offer for next summer (2024) but I have nothing lined up for this summer. Should I just take the summer off or should I try to find something finance related and if so, where should I look considering it's very late?

Also just completed sophomore year. I landed an internship in my home town that is super low key. It’s great because I’ll be getting experience but still be able to spend time with family and friends before losing all my free time next summer.

If you can still snag an internship, I would go for it. The extra experience can’t hurt. If you need money, you might just want to work a regular job.

Try to enjoy it as much as you can. It’s basically your last typical summer.

Recommend taking the summer to do anything you want! It's the last summer you can chill, so take the chill time!

Lots of fun summer programs to check out --

1. Check out Kappa Omega Scholars -- build up your data skils

2. Economic Science Institutes are another solid place e.g. https://www.chapman.edu/research/institutes-and-centers/economic-scienc… ...apply directly to their programs or ask to do research

3. General research with a local prof is good enough for your summer.

4. Take a programming bootcamp. No barriers to entry and it will help you stand out against your fellow analyst class.

Who tf wants to do that. Waste of time touch some grass no one doing work in the summer if they aren’t getting paid.
