What work experience should I include
I am a rising freshman at a target/semi-target T20 school and I am starting to apply for finance positions and roles. I’ve noticed that a lot of people a year older than me were able to land impressive sophomore summer internships before the end of their 2nd semester. I have a internship lined up for the fall semester at a small investment bank, but I also have some pretty impressive legal experience and I was wondering if I should include it in my resume when applying to jobs my freshman year. More specifically I will be working at the DOJ as a legal intern during my fall semester as the only freshman ever employed by the DOJ (from what my bosses have told me). I know this has nothing to do with finance but when I mention it to older students and professors they are all impressed and say I should include it on my resume simply for branding. What should I do?
Yes, include it. As a freshman you won't have much else to put on there most likely and DOJ is a strong name even if legal arm.
