When should I start prepping for PC recruiting?

I recently accepted a full-time analyst job at a top Rx group and was wondering how best to approach recruiting for MF private credit. Is the process the same and as intense as MF PE?

Also, how bad would it be to delay on-cycle until the following year? I've heard that can hurt your chances for PE, but am curious how it would affect PC arms. 

Additionally, any PC resources to prep for interviews would be very appreciated.
