When to start reaching out to people for coffee chats?

Happy New Years! My friend and I were wondering when we should start reaching out to people considering it's the holiday season and the summer analyst interview cycle is starting right now. Is there a rough date that you would suggest? I'm considering perhaps the 10th of January.
