where do I go from now...
Hey guys,
I just completed my 1st year at McGill, majoring in Finance. Got a 3.84 CGPA, interning at TMX Group this summer as a compliance market analyst at Montreal Office (derivatives). I am going on exchange to Paris Dauphine (business school in France) for the upcoming semester and plan on taking active part in their investment club.
My question is basically what should I do now... (aiming to get into M&A in New York)? I have a contact at a BB bank in san francisco (sales) and am scheduled to speak with an analyst at a BB in new york very soon (by phone).
I already have secured an accounting internship for next summer at a big4 (was previously thinking of going into accounting). Should I keep this in case I don't get an internship with a BB investment bank next summer? or would I be better off interning in some boutique bank instead of doing accounting? I also may have an opportunity in M&A consulting with PwC... you guys think this is a good alternative given I don't get an internship with a BB?
Thanks!
I would do the boutique or M&A consulting over accounting. You seem like you're on the right track. Keep up your grades and keep on piling up these internships and you should be able to land at a BB post graduation....
never do PWM.
PWM... private wealth management? why not?
oh ok cool, OP, when you can hit this 99mph fastball let me know. that's equivalent to 176 km/minute/kiloseconds or what ever stupid metric shit you use up in america's basement.
