Where to do virtual interview?
Got a virtual AC. Was going to do it in my flat but the lighting and internet isn't the greatest. Was thinking about booking a university room but feel like there'll be people making noise outside (or I'll be expecting them to be) which will be on my mind and put me off whereas I can feel more comfortable at home. Where do you guys generally do virtual interviews?
My university has interview rooms for occasions like this. The rooms don’t have windows and are in a quiet place of the building. Not sure if your university has something like this. Outside of this, I’d take it at home. Do what you can to get the best lighting - lamps, moving your desk/laptop to a certain area in your flat. As far as internet connection, you can buy a networking cable to physically connect your laptop to your wifi router for better connection.
Thanks. Our uni has a virtual interview room but the max you can book is 2 hours and my interview is 2 hours so I don't want to risk rushing about before the interview as ideally want to be sat down ready to go 10 mins before. It also is really small (basically a box) so conscious of an echo. So will probs do it at home

Maybe it’s crazy but I booked a hotel for a day specifically for my upcoming virtual AC. I can’t connect the router to my PC since I live in a shared apartment with spotty internet but hey if I got an offer, those 150€ would be worth it !
Actually a pretty good idea tbf. Definitely something only for final rounds/ACs tho and not first/second round virtual interviews

Also was wondering what was your strategy for this? Did you have to book 2 nights given check in and check out times? How did you make sure the hotel had good enough wifi?
Booked for a day. Checkin 15h00 on the previous day and checkout 12pm on day of AC (I added a late checkout package @ 14h00 worth 20 bucks). Just got sent the schedule : My last round of interviews ends at 13h30
On Wi-Fi, based on similar hotels I’ve stayed in in the city, should be good. Impossible to verify before checkin but it’s not a questionable establishment so all should go well
i stayed at hostels while travelling through europe but booked a hotel for a super day and got the offer

yep two nights, checked in night one, setup my desk make sure nothing in the background make sure lighting was okay, superday during day two, finished around afternoon and relaxed for that night, checked out the following morning
wifi was fine because I booked a decent hotel didn’t want to take any chances
