Will I be able to handle the pressure

Currently going though the recruitment process and realising that I may not be able to handle the pressure or hours required for IB. I go to an Ivy (not HYP) and we don’t have any finance/accounting classes so I have been learning everything myself. Between that and my classes, job and social life I already feel burned out. But if I’m already burned out in college how tf am I meant to survive two years of IB. I’m surrounded by other finance bros who don’t seem to be struggling and I’m worried that I will never be better than them.

Am I over reacting or is this a sign that this career is not for me? Also worried about my lack of natural ability, is it possible to do well just by trying really hard or do you need some kind of intrinsic ability? Should I cut my losses and try to figure out another career path?

Similar situation, but I have landed an offer at a BB (24 Summer) and the imposter syndrome is coming in hot.

I think the best way to look at it is that the whole point of the internship is for you to explore an industry and see if it’s a fit for you .

I also came from a non finance background and studied CS at a target in the UK.

Only one way to find out, and that’s the excitement / rush.

No one knows what they’re doing when they come into banking, but holy fuck is the rush of finance fun. You feel like the whole world opens up in front of you.
