I'm looking at my full time options for when I graduate next year, and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to leverage my connections at very small (5-15 man) IB/M&A boutiques. Would an analyst position at one of these shops give you any kind of chance to lateral after 2 years? If not, what are the exit ops like? Unfortunately, I got dinged in the final rounds for summer analyst spots in BB corporate banking and IB at a larger boutique, so I now have nothing really lined up. The AM group I am currently interning with does not regularly hire FT employees out of UG.
