Would Goldman rescind an offer due to a low GPA, to someone 2 years out of college?
Would GS rescind a FT offer in their Early Careers program for someone with a (very low for banking) GPA? I'm talking about sub 2.5 from a non-target?
I never intended on attending university or even finishing. I started a business when I was 15, and also was a representative of a financial services organization and did relatively well for myself selling personal finance products. Although my grades were pretty bad, I could get the VP of our University and director of Housing to vouch for me due to my extracurricular achievements and have networked with a handful of analysts, associates, and a VP there already. At the time, I believed college was pointless because I hated the fact that I was being taught definitions of leadership principles, versus taught hands-on through experience, and was going to pursue a career that didn't require college.
If I get a FT offer, would GS rescind once I submit my transcript? I already worked at a big company for a year (think Thomson Reuters, FactSet, etc.) in a back-office role, but also have a goal of completing my CFA Level I in the next year once I can afford everything involved with the test.
Advice?
No. They just want to confirm you graduated by that point. As long as you never lied about it then they won’t care
as long as you didn’t lie about your gpa, you should be fine. Glad to see that you are doing better! Best of luck in everything
Do you have an offer? That is the most important thing. But as others said, as long as you are upfront about it in the first place, then it shouldn't be a problem.
