the series 7 for non-finance major

I've red that most people(with or without finance background) study for about 300 hrs and pass the Series 7.

I am wondering if I am doing something wrong... I have been studying for the test for the past 12 months. At least one hour a day, five hours on weekend...

First, I used STC text book that made no sense, so I switched to Kaplan and I had a better grasp. Then I used STC online for interactive quizzes and mock tests, which I would score 40 to low 50, eitght months in, my grade still would not improve, so I bought Dummy's guide and studied the chapters over and over, now 12 months in, my grade has not improved...

I am sure I have already taken 8,000 quizes by now...and easily more than 300 hrs of study time spent....every time I take a mock test, I feel like Ive seen questions that are similar but just can not remember what the right answer is. I have terrible memory beyond anyone's understanding, and I do take adderrall to keep me focused...I made flash cards, notes in my own words, I watched investopedia and or youtube videos for key terms... I dont know what more I can do.. . Everyone else that passed tells me to just read the chapters a few times and then go on to do as many quizzes as possible so that you reach the point where you almost memorize the answers...well, I cant seem to remember any answers....

I have not taken any vacation, no Christmas, no thanks giving, no weekends. I am totally isolating myself from the world. But till this test is done, my sponsor will not provide me with health insurance and or paid vacation and I do not want to be temping for them forever...I dont want to jump from one job to another so I am staying with them and trying to pass this test but I feel like its getting nowhere...every single day I study and cry, feeling almost suicidal. I dont know when to quit either...its just plain torture to me.
