Undergrad Investor

Hi everyone,

I am a senior in college and have been investing my personal account for the past 1 1/2 years with some success. I was wondering if anyone else here on WSO invests and is interested in forming some sort of micro-cap investment group to share ideas.

I ONLY focus my attention on small companies ($100mm and below), as smaller companies are generally undiscovered, and hence the gap between market and fair value is usually much wider. Executive management teams are also more receptive to speaking with private investors.

My investment style is typically deep value + catalyst. I also find "free options" attractive as well.

I'll be visiting Chicago later this month to visit some friends, and will also be happy to meet up with like minded micro cap investors who live/work in the area.

Cheers

Should I be? My boss from last summer and other portfolio managers meet up frequently to share ideas. There are also private online communities like SumZero, VIC, and Micro cap club that don't share new ideas with the general public. Don't know how this would be much different.
