What industries are still open to low GPA ?

Hi everyone,

I'm taking a gap year because in the first two years of college I had hemiplegic migraine headaches that occurred spontaneously but was somewhat controlled by my usage of migraine medicine. Unfortunately for me my grades suffered terribly due to the side-effects of the medicine that I had been taking (chest pain and long-term dizziness). I kept this from my parents until I was sent to the emergency room this past summer when I had just started an internship. So during past 4 months I have been just seeking treatment. My condition has stabilized over the past 1.5 month and under recommendation from my advisor I'm taking a semester off (and perhaps a second semester) to not only recover but also gain some work experience.

I had been wanting to go to law/business school in the past but given consideration to my graduation GPA (by end of Senior Yr project ~3.3) I think it's more practical that I explore other alternatives presently.

I'm currently majoring in Political Science and Economics at a target school with experience only in technology company in high school and commercial banking freshman year. I know the doors of ibanking and management consulting are essentially closed to me due to the GPA/experience factor so what other paths are open to me? I would like to close the experience gap by seeking some off-cycle internships but at loss to what industry I could potentially intern in and work in after graduation.

I had previously looked up commercial real estate but am wary due to lack of stability in the beginning. Any pointers??? Startups? Residential real estate?

I think that my forte is definitely in my personality and although my quant skills are my weakness I'm willing to work hard to attain those skills.
