No it would not. And even if it did somehow come up (which it wouldnt), you likely wouldnt be faulted for this. The primary reason is that even if you were at fault, it would be hard for a firm to truly judge if what you did was "wrong" (e.g., you cut someone off and swerved into another car) vs. a true accident (e.g., it was rainy and visibility was poor and the person in front of you slammed on his brakes and you did the same but couldnt come to a complete stop fast enough).

Dont stress about it and just focus on a full recovery.

Source: I also got into a near death accident and underwent multiple rigorous background checks.

It’s up in the air whether it’ll affect you to not. I know many people who’ve been in accidents and were at fault but it didn’t cause any issues at work. However, at my firm one of the interns got in a fender bender (his fault too) and an MD was furious. Yelled at him in front of the whole office, basically saying how can I trust you with clients if I can’t even trust you in your car. Everyone clapped and another intern even handed the MD a $100 out of respect.

In sum, no. There’s not a chance in hell that a regular accident with no alcohol/drugs involved is going to affect your background checks. Just relax and recover.

This will not matter. If it wasn't drugs or alcohol-related, then you should be fine. It was probably out of your control and you should focus on making a full recovery, both physically and mentally.

No, this won't affect you negatively. Do not let this impact your mentality towards work and hope you have a healthy recovery.

One of my previous banks even hired a kid who had a DUI and crashed into a tree.

Reckless driving would get you screwed but if it was an honest mistake, you’re chilling bro. Glad you’re all good!

If there were no criminal charges involved, then no it won't matter at all and flat out they can't look into it anyways. All they could ever look into or take into any kind of consideration is any criminal charges that you got tagged with, which it sounds like there weren't any. The only way it'd ever come up is if you bring it up.

If anything, there's usually an option where you can write if there's anything else you'd like to disclose. I'd disclose it and be open and honest about it. It's better if they find out from you and than from the background check firm. As long as it wasn't a DUI/driving without a license/insurance or something like that it should be fine. If you are in NY, it's probably less relevant than in Houston as sometimes you have to be able to drive to drop off decks at VPs/MDs homes sometimes.

You're done. A friend of mine got a DUI and applied for an Associate position at a BB-IB, they did the background check, and immediately discovered his past. He was promptly taken out of the back (past HR who gave him a quick icebreaker question about his favourite college memory so he got to know the death squad) before being shot in the head at point blank range. His clothing was then stolen by an S&T hobo, who pawned it for money to buy new slides. Many such cases.
