23 Year Old Trader Drops £200k on Booze in One Night

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/the-business…

23 year old FX trader Alex Hope's bar tab amounted to £203,948 for the night. This includes spending £125k alone on a single champagne bottle.

Looks like models and bottles and the glory days of finance is still alive for some people. What a baller.

Discuss.

No wonder the article didn't mention the firm he's working at. What a joker, he must have taken a loan to buy those drinks: http://www.alexhopefx.com/

This guy is such a gimmick- he's using freestockcharts.com for charting while laying out his little sister's monopoly money on his desk.

Here's his website for those that want to admire greatness:

http://www.alexhopefx.com

"London born and bred, Alex Hope, 22, is a self-taught trader who specialises in the Foreign Exchange Market. Despite his tender years, Alex is a name to watch out for in the city; an expert in the UK economy, he works the currency markets, regularly trading millions"

Trying to become the next Alex Vayner? This has to be a joke.

GoodBread:
Something's off about this Alex Hope story. The dude has been trading for a small prop shop for three years and has his own self-promotional website. No way on earth he can 'afford' to do what he did. Sounds like a publicity stunt for something.

Meh...I agree...sounds more like he's running a Ponzi scheme than a legitimate trader.

Exactly what I was thinking.... This sounds like the start of an episode of American Greed. I could hear the narrator in my head when I was reading about Alex on his website

It's fabricated by him and the club owner.

If you can provide proof I'd be keen to read.

Funniest

From his pics it looks like he took physical delivery of some pork bellies contracts.

What kind of bullshit prop shop hires a nobody? Besides mark Cuban who is worth many billions of dollars only bought a 80k bottle of the bubbly when his mavericks won the NBA title. I call bullshit.

London has a different market, for example if you managed to get a good ratio after an arcade stint they might decide to employ you, moving to a more prestigious is not that unlikely, given London has more volume than Wall Street and right now is the biggest HF hub in the world.

By the way, Russian oligarchs spending their holidays here in italy have done worst, a guy did leave a 20k Euros tip, arabs are known for their shopping crazyness (a dude did spend 10 million just because he wanted to do some shopping) :D

A prop shop is not a hf. Also there is a huge difference in a kid who make 6 figures and Russian oligarch or a ME prince. Your thought process is wack. I make way more then this guy and I am not going to drop a 250k tab.

Pretty fucking awesome, I always love to see people killing it in this business, keeps the dream alive.

I thought that the higher ups didn't like it when their traders were so flashy/flaunted their stuff?

He's looks like a little douchebag either way... why does he have his own website again?

I just wanted to pop in here and mention again that this guy looks douchetastic, whoever brought up the point of wearing sunglasses in a dark night club is spot on... can't believe I missed that.

I just cannot help myself from touching the Rooney comments. And I will do it in terms that Vtech can relate to.

Challenge: Find someone from the NFL with more likes on facebook than Rooney.

Also, being an actor is somewhat different from sports as supporting the team for which the athlete plays is commonly a prerequisite for - as you would say - 'liking' the player: You can like both Christopher Walken and a Bollywood actor, but liking Gerrard and Rooney is probably less common. Getting a million likes as a football player is significantly harder than it is for a movie star or pop artist.

This is only true because of the demographic of people who enjoy sports and use Facebook and Twitter is certainly smaller than the demographic that enjoys Justin Bieber an uses Facebook and Twitter.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

hahaha....... fuckin love it.

Jesus... what a tard. Pick one:

a)commit crimes b)bring attention to yourself

You should not do both together. Looks like this toolbag has been exposed for what he truly is.
