(2/4) Undergrad Review: Indiana University - IB Club

A couple of weeks ago I posted about how public universities are developing a growing presence on Wall Street. In that post, I highlighted four undergraduate programs that have earned an upstanding reputation for job placement. Over a four week span, I will give you guys a better understanding of each and the benefits of joining them.

For week two, I will be covering Indiana University - Bloomington's Investment Banking Club. In this organization, undergraduate students are exposed to DCF valuation, LBO, and the financial industry as a whole outside of the classroom. In addition, members gain exposure to resume writing and networking seminars in order to increase their candidacy for competitive internships and full-time opportunities.

Offered through the Kelley School of Business, the Investment Banking Club allows students to prepare for acceptance into the Investment Banking Workshop, the Investment Management Workshop, and the Investment Banking Seminar. Over the past two years, roughly 30 students have been selected to participate in each track.

These programs place rather heavily in Chicago, with some placement in New York and the UK. Members have gained full-time and internship opportunities through networks and training. By joining the Investment Banking Club, Kelley students are able to explore a plethora of other opportunities as undergraduates. As a result, these non-target students are able to gain a leg up in a highly competitive industry.
