Analysts/Associates own a dog?

Curious if any young guns out there also take care of a pet?

I have a golden retriever and always find time to take him out get him exercise. I'm not NYC IB though... So I'm sure I'm "privileged" in that sense.

I have a Doberman and he requires tons of exercise, but I work remotely full time (just my agreement not from covid).

Definitely wouldn’t recommend a dog unless you’re around most of the time or have a spouse who is.

I always grew up anti-cat...they skeeved me out... but it was a package deal with my (now) wife. I had dogs and still look forward to getting a dog someday but... I absolutely love this cat- so much less work than a dog- can basically be left alone for up to 48-72 hours. She is adorable and their personalities are really something once you've spent enough time interacting with them.

I think I could have handled having a cat during my Analyst years but it's not fair to a dog unless you have someone else to share the care duties with you given the unpredictable hours you will be working (usually in the office under normal circumstances obviously).

Not yet but as soon as I find a way out of this rat race ill get a garden and a dog (prob a golden or a aussie shepherd - amazing dogs)
