"Anybody making less than $400,000 a year will not pay a single penny in taxes" - Biden

“I keep hearing in the press, ‘Biden’s going to raise your taxes,'” Biden said. “Anybody making less than $400k a year will not pay a single penny in taxes and we will not increase the deficit either.”

"It's about balancing the system."

Yeah that’s misleading what he means is that there will no increases for joint filers so if you make 200k and up you will be paying more in taxes... but he won’t be able to pass the tax increases anyway as he needs 60 senators.

Agreed. But the same exact thing holds true for Trump. Most conservatives ignore that Trump was very much incompetent when it mattered most. I vote on both sides of the political aisle, but I'm saddened by the fact that our nation felt that Trump, Biden were the best candidates to run this country.

It's a global embarrassment that someone so senile and so horribly put together is serving as the President of the United States, the most powerful position in the free world. Even sadder is how we got to this point.

There are probably thousands of entreprenuers, judges, lawyers, novelists, agency heads/secretaries, professors, senators/representatives, governers--basically anyone half compentent in our country or government--who would be better than Joe Biden.

We got to this point because someone even more senile and more demented came before him - the only difference being that guy was also a grifter, a con man, and an outright criminal and so no one noticed that his mental faculties, such as they ever were, had deserted him decades prior.

If Joe Biden was running around complimenting Nazis, colluding with foreign nationals to undermine American democracy, and stealing from the American taxpayer, you wouldn't be hearing a word about any of his faux pas.

couple things

1. every president has made false claims about the budget deficit, nothing new

2. press conferences are not policies

3. if you're talking about having someone embarrassing as president, don't forget we've had criminals, racists, adulterers, socialists, war mongers, and more. every president is imperfect. not excusing his behavior, but this isn't "new" it's not like we just went from having Marcus Aurelius to hairy legs biden in one day. it's like an iOS update, maybe the fonts changed but the system is still exactly the same.

4. tax rates change all the time and it doesn't do much of anything except change the national debt & deficit slightly. if you're living so close to the edge your financial world will crumble by paying a little more in taxes, you need to reevaluate your life, not the president. full disclosure - I detest most of biden's policies, but this is an example of focusing on what you can control. you will live through many more democratic presidents who love tax increases. have enough wiggle room in your budget to withstand this. and ditto for inflation. inflation and taxes aren't in your control, your spending habits are. vote the way you want, but then get on with your life.

I'm keeping a mental tally of all the people in my circle who were loud on social media the past 4 years, they tend to fall into one of two camps

A) hated trump and wouldn't stfu about it, now are biden cheerleaders and keeping names of people who ever supported trump

B) loved trump and were insufferable anytime he was met with the slightest criticism, only to spend the past 6 months criticizing Biden with the same fervor they detested

it's amazing how people who call out hypocrisy/idiocy fail to see it when presented with a mirror
