Yes. In the past few months is has quickly become more like a weird incel, politics obsessed, prestige chasing version of Reddit rather than a place to learn more about various career paths and success stories.

Im not sure what is prompting your concern. There have always been political and off topic comments/conversations on this forum. There are still quality posters here but many have moved on as theyve aged Im guessing.

What the fuck are you talking about? I've been here like 7 years. That's what it's always been.

The only thing that's deteriorating is the Off Topic forum.

Frankly, AndyLouis & WallStreetOasis.com , people shouldn't be able to start topics or post anonymously in the off topic forum and you shouldn't be able to create a new off topic post until you're at something like 2500 banana points. I understand the need for anonymity on some of the job forums and the obvious benefit of new people creating new topics there, but the Off Topic forum isn't for helping people, it's for arguing about politics, talking about sports, discussing being dumped because you studied too hard for the CFA, etc.

The amount of spam, bullshit, and nonsense from new accounts in the Off Topic forum over the past month or so has been awful.

"so awful" We get like a couple spam posts a week. As if this is a busy forum and they're bumping good threads. Relax, you fucks.

"Kanyeezy 2020" imagine being upset from people talking about sports in an off topic forum

Yeah you read that completely wrong. Take a lap.

I love the Off Topic Forum, but agree it would be helpful to limit who can post in there. I remember back in the day when Eddie Braverman would post off topic things, but they were all really well thought out and encouraged really fascinating discussions. I always loved those.

I do wonder though if people were limited and unable to post on the off topic forum, would they start post off topic things in other forums?

New people should still be able to post here, just not start dumbass topics.

If they started dumbass topics in the on-topic forums, the threads would get rightfully deleted as spam.
