Asset Pricing / FIG Research Topic?

I'm currently taking a course on asset pricing and other macroeconomic topics that deal with banking.  Next summer I'll be interning in IB with a FIG shop.  I'm writing a final paper on some topic dealing with asset pricing, financial crises, or really anything to do with banking.  

Anyone have any good topic ideas or top issues in the space currently?  I plan to write a thesis my senior year, so looking for some topic I could potentially expand upon then.
