Assignment help - Researching A Stock

I'm writing an undergrad assignment at the moment that involves picking a stock on the S & P 500 (I've chosen Fedex) and writing a report giving a buy/hold/sell/etc. recommendation based on whether I think it is under/fairly/over valued. I'm having some trouble putting the info before I make a decision/start writing.

I've found all the quantitative info easily enough, but am having a hard time finding qualitative stuff like its growth potential, diversity of customers/suppliers, threats/risks, competitive position, quality of management, etc.

Anyone know where I can find this sort of stuff covered in reasonable depth?

Thanks.

Ok, thanks for that. Grabbed the 10-K and it seems to have some useful info.

With regard to analyst reports (which is essentially what this assignment is asking me to produce), whats the best way to get these at as little cost as possible? I have the ValuEngine one which seems OK, but not great, which is what I expected given that I got it for free.

Which ones are better than others? I'm willing to spend a little money, but not for something thats crap.

See if your library has subscriptions to InvestText or Reuters Knowledge. Just go to your library's hompeage and search business resources. They might have a resource that can pull up at least a few analyst reports.

You could also see if any of your friends/parents have accounts with large brokerage firms. If they trade their own account they should have access to that firm's research reports.

Sometimes in Morningstar they go in depth, for free, on the qualitative and quantitative aspects of a company. Usually, the 10K is where most of your info will be. Although you might find it a bit tedious to go through and somewhat dry, it has what you need.
