I hate traveling and one of my rainmaking MD was on the road 20+days in a given month. Does this change as a partner or principle at UMM/MM fund? Best I can do is travel twice in a month. Appreciate any insights.

Depends on the firm but for us it's a lot of daytrips for management meetings and portco board meetings. Travel maybe 5-6 days a month but spend the night in a hotel only 2-3 times (usually for dinners the night before a meeting). Having a jet helps.
Thanks, do you personally know anyone, VP or Principal, spends more than 10 days a month on the road?
When I was a banker (only an associate), I had to travel so much that I racked up 300k miles w/ United in half a year. Had a good amount w/ Southwest too.
I think it really depends on the group and the MD and his client base.
But note that all travel has stopped since Covid.
