Career Resources
Airbnb, affordable (undergrad budget) and can stay in unique places and really get a feel for a city.
Love Kimptons. Starwood's for the breadth of product and locations. W or JW Marriott when I travel.
I had an idea where I buy an apartment complex and AirBnB the whole thing. Then I'm like bro that's a hotel.
Some guy actually did that in New York and made an absolute fortune before getting shutdown.
Saw this in Banff recently
For resorts it is Aman.
Not in your face luxury or bling but a level of service beyond 5 stars.
Trump hotels are quite frankly, the best. Believe me!
THE BEST. IMMACULATE. GLORIOUS LOCATIONS AND EVERY ROOM HAS A VIEW AND AMPLE LIDOCAINE.
If I'm paying for it right now, its Airbnb. JW Mariott is probably one of the nicest chains I've been in.
For something I can afford - Westin. They have one in Houston off of I-10 and its absolutely gorgeous with big rooms and some of the best beds I've slept in. Plus the infinity (or affinity?) pool overlooking I-10 and that part of Houston is fantastic.
W Hotels are my favorite.
The W is bumpin man, all you hear is untz untz untz every time you check in lmao.
Globally speaking, the W has been beautifully consistent in terms of quality and amenities
Agree on the W. Bit pricey in certain locations, but definitely worth it.
Four Seasons
Airbnb
JW Marriott is never a bad choice
I've never had a bad time at an RC. The customer service is impeccable, and the quality is unsurpassed by any other flag hotels.
That being said, there are some elite boutiques, if you will, that are equally amazing. Hotel Monteleone in NOLA is beyond solid. Rooftop pool is one of my favorite places in the Dirty.
Absolutely agreed. Unsurpassed service quality. Heard every employee has a 2k/month budget to buy stuff for guests (e.g. phone charger, berries not available on the buffet...). I think their concept is different in that they subsidize excellent service (staff training, salaries etc) with comparably high rates.
Shangri-La around Asia and in Canada.
W is usually top notch and as others have mentioned they're always great time. Some of the Waldorf Astoria locations can unbelievable too. Stayed at one in Europe and it was quite an experience.
Relais & Châteaux
Waldorf Astoria
Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton.
Airbnb is basically hiked up rates for shitty service in prime locations.
Personally love Mandarin Oriental. W is great for weekend trips.
hampton inn
Kempinski and Constance. Though neither of them has US locations.
What is a hotel? My park bench is comfy enough for me folks! Get's a little cold in winter, but I always get my blanket from the dumpster.
Best room I ever had was MGM Skylofts in Vegas.. Overal chain: I like Intercontinental hotels.
Park Hyatt, especially the one in Sydney; the views are spectacular.
Park Hyatt or Shangri-La as the staple choice. W at a fun destination. Sheraton or Intercontinental as the backup.
Super 8
You can check-out any time you like... but you can never leave.
guitar solo kicks in
Any place that has themed rooms and jacuzzi tubs. If it is a classy engagement then I prefer the holiday inn.
Mandarin Orientals are gorgeous. They would be my pick it they were available at the location in question.
Anything Starwood... simply because I have way too many points and lifetime gold status (going on lifetime platinum if I stay in this job)
I always stay at Trump
Favorite hotels and airlines (Originally Posted: 11/26/2012)
The title is pretty self explanatory - what is everyone's favorite hotel and airline for business travel?
As for my .02, I prefer Delta but normally end up on US Air for one reason or another. Enjoy Hyatt and Le Meridien for hotels.
Airline: AirTran for commercial flights, but nothing beats flying private.
Hotel: Ritz Carlton or Airbnb if you want to save $$.
Virgin.
United and JetBlue for flights, W & Le Meridien for hotels
Delta and regular Marriott/Sheraton.
Cathay, Singapore, ANA, Lufthansa, Private Jet... Four Seasons
Thought there were ballers on this site
Solid picks
Bought Copa stock when it was around $38 a share. So yeah, Copa - by far my favorite airline.
Starwoods (St. Regis and Le Meridian, I find the W too obnoxious and the Sheraton and Westin boring). Airline used to be AA but after the last 4 months of constant fuckups I think I'm going United (which means Lufthansa instead of BA to Europe and Singapore instead of Cathay to Asia).
Star Alliance. United's frequent flyer program is better than delta's and oneworld only makes sense if Lon/HK based or heavy Latam focus. LH/Swiss beats AF/KLM. ANA/SQ/Thai is better than JAL/Korean/(Cathay). Unfortunately AF/KLM is sometimes inevitable for some Africa travel but I guess you can always go Emirates/Qatar for those if one is alliance agnostic.
Far less picky with hotels as I will prefer to stay near client or whatever the nicer property is in any given city. Though I have to agree on W being too obnoxious - don't get the hype. Also quite like Conrad properties...
