Best laptop recommendations for 800$

Hello everyone, I am looking to get a laptop for corporate finance modeling work for around 800 bucks. I have a work deal to get the Dell Latitude 5480 Basic (14" HD LCD, 7th Gen Intel i5-7200U, 4GB, 500GB 7200rpm) for $730. Do you have any alternatives in mind for a similar budget or is that the best I can get for that price?

Thanks yall in advance.

Latitudes haven't been updated with 8th gen Intel Core CPUs and the one you listed has low amounts of RAM and a terrible HDD.

I would get this instead: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-15-5000-2-in-1/spd… There's also the same configuration in 13" version: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-13-7000/spd/inspir…

You get an Intel 8th gen quad core (around 50% more performance than the one you listed), double the RAM and a much, much faster HDD. From my experience, SDDs make a difference in heavy Excel workloads (working with MCS and such). Also, the screen is Full HD which is a huge difference.

Latitude probably has a better build quality, but for everything else, Insipiron is superior.

$730 for a laptop with crap specs like those is a complete rip off. Look on slickdeals and you'll find a much better bargain.
