Best US Credit Card for Students?

I'm moving to the US from Canada, with no US based credit history. I'm starting my first year MBA and will have no income (lol). A couple of options I have right now: 1. Set up an Amex in Canada - they allow cross border transfer of credit cards pretty easily. Con: Canadian sign up perks SUCK in comparison.

  1. Set up a TD Americas Credit Card - they will pull my Canadian history which will be nice, but TD Bank's credit cards kinda suck

  2. Set up a Canadian credit card with 0% conversion fees - will be easier to set up, but also would have to pay everything off in CAD

Anyone else gone through this process? Any thoughts/advice?

What concrete said... also look into the Discover it card if you plan on being in the US for a while. I had basically no credit history when I applied for it and ended up working just fine
