A 10-year-old girl was denied an abortion in Ohio after the Supreme Court ruled last week that it was overturning Roe v. Wade, demonstrating the tangible impacts that the high court’s decision is having on patients seeking access to the medical procedure.
A child abuse doctor in Ohio contacted Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an obstetrician-gynecologist in Indiana, after receiving a 10-year-old patient who was six weeks and three days pregnant, the Indianapolis Star reported.
That patient is now heading west to Indiana given that an abortion ban in Ohio, which prohibits the medical procedure when fetal cardiac activity begins, around six weeks, had become effective quickly after the high court issued its decision.

Biology lesson for you- the very earliest you can even test for pregnancy is week 5- the weeks are calculated by the first day of your last period- most period cycles are 4-5 weeks.. The more you know..

I agree with every pro-choice argument until I remember that a human fetus with a heartbeat that experiences pain is involved and will die as a result of the abortion.
To say that "women will die" due to less abortion rights is to ignore that a woman dies 50% of the time whenever an "abortion right" is exercised.
you're forgetting things such as ectopic pregnancy- which are always non-viable and will also result in the death of woman. As well as instances when maternal health is involved as well as unviable pregnancies that are being forced to carry and result in dead tissue inside woman who can also die from this. What you are saying misses so many other real reasons for abortion. And the only reason for an abortion should be that a woman decides what happens to her body. You don't like it- then don't have sex. You don't have to chose abortion but others can make their own choice.
It's a basic human right of mine to seek healthcare to prevent my own death. I know- all too well- my own life has been in risk giving birth. Under the new laws I would not have been able to obtain the healthcare that I needed to save my own life and instead would have been forced to carry a non-viable fetus. How is this not a violation of my basic human rights?

She was taken to Indiana because her Ohio doctor made a call. With Ohios new abortion ban soon coming into place, that call wouldn’t be able to occur. Now we have a child that literally must make that call for herself and somehow organize a ride to Illinois, at 10 years old.
This is utterly repulsive.
This child was transported- but this is just one example of a whole lot of what is going on. The bigger issue is that poor people or women who are in abusive relationships don't have the option to travel. Which is why abortion access is needed for all.

I am pro choice myself, but I am LESS able to understand pro-lifers who DO support rape or incest exceptions, than I am able to understand the pro-lifers who want to ban all abortions minus those for life threatening pregnancies.
As far as I can tell, the only reason to be pro life is having a genuine belief that a fetus is literally a human baby. And if that is the case, how would you reconcile that view with rape/incest justifying literal baby murder?
The way I see it it’s still murder after the heartbeat is detected but the guilt rests solely on the rapist. Existing abortion laws charge the mother with murder, whereas exceptions for rape and incest should charge the rapist with murder. Unfortunately if you study how rich white men get let off the hook for sexual scandals time and time again, and study many of the accusations going against these politicians you’d understand why they aren’t doing this or acknowledging how horrible rape/incest is and letting the girl be innocent.
