Bulge Bracket Security Office

Everytime I walk into the doors of my BB, before I go past those glass gates, there is always a security guard there standing with an earpiece watching people walk in and out. They do this all day. They do this Everyday. Sometimes they rotate with the guy that sits at a desk, sometimes there is 2 of them, sometimes there is 1. Sometimes there is one standing by the elevator, and so on.

Having done security in the military I remember how terrible those 12 hour shifts were. And there we actually got to read, watch movies, bullshit with each other, and of course take as many dips/smoke as many cigarettes as we wanted.

These guys however, have to stand, can't (or just don't) talk to eachother, definitely no reading or watching movies, and absolutely no tobacco.

Would any of you monkeys ever consider doing security for a BB? Who do you think puts up with this shit? What do you think the pay is?

and of course this wouldn't be complete without a troll question: Can you possibly move up to back office if you play your cards right?

really curious about the exit ops, if anyone has experience in the industy..

is a jump from BB to PE possible in 2 years? what about hedge funds and prop shops? How's the lifestyle upgrade? I'd imagine there wouldn't be many 12 hour shifts anymore

They talk to each other at my BB. Some also know a few of the employees. I dap or handwrap one of the guys every time I see him.
