Buzzfeed's dead - get rid of the censorship here

Dear "esteemed" WSO team,

I don't know it you are aware of it, but Buzzfeed's dead, it's "journalists" scattered in the clickbaity winds, and three cheers to that! Rejoice, oh world, for this abundance of annoyance has been delivered from us.

That being said, and do forgive me for putting this into such harsh words, would you guys (or whatever PC, gender-neutral term your soft bellies can stomach) please step the fuck out of the cancerous Demolition Man cosplay you have molded this website into? Congrats, your cucking to the most libshit of libshit media has produced a completey safe, sane, and pressure-washed job forum where the most unhinged threads are by Isaiah praising fucking Peking Duck. Really, congrats, and all it took away was everything people came here for. You succeeded by all counts, and you spent so much beautiful money on these worthless fucking "safety tools" that red-flagged everyone and their mother for using bad, no-good "no-no" words.

So I would like you to consider not the free speech aspect of this topic (since you guys evidently hate that), but the costs savings of not having an arsenal of digital Mielkes running around patrolling the ether. All those crowds of censoring code cannot come cheap.

In any case, tide's changing, Musk has shown how effective community policing looks like, and I know you guys like to go with the times, so maybe consider that one day, the censors might not be in power anymore, and you will look like the world's most boring Stalin.

Just food for thought. I don't expect this post to go through anyways, and if it does, consider this my official return to WSO. Shitposting will now resume.

Worst regards,

BigKahunaBanker

IMHO Patrick did a good job listening to those of us who were concerned about censorship ruining the site and trying to address those concerns by not over-doing it. Not saying I agree with every decision made but I thought it was handled alright, especially over time as we started seeing less and less deleted comments.

That said, those who were in the old Buzzfeed thread talking about what a threat that “journalist” was . . . LOLOLOL hope y’all learned your lesson about being scared little sheep.

Musk's twitter isn't a place for free speech at all.

Every time a foreign government asked Twitter to take down a post that they didn't like, Elon complied.  Every single time, around 900 in total, since he bought the website.  But hey!  Holocaust deniers and Neo Nazis are back!  When Elon says free speech he doesn't mean standing up to authoritarians, he means saying racial slurs.

When Elon says free speech he means saying racial slurs.

Unfathomably, ridiculously, impossibly, and - dare I say - shockingly based

...and the Truth shall set you free

My mentor in college told me, "if you want to learn about how the world works, study Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE)." He helped to bridge ties in the 90s between Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the UK as US Ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland.

I always thought about these words and how PPE factors affect the world, and how important they are, especially for macroeconomics. I've been good at understanding Economics and Philosophy, but am weak in understanding politics. I could usually login to the old WSO and we had some good political threads going on. It helped me to understand the world. Yes, some people got out of line, but I miss that part of the site.
