For either of the two, are you required to have a bachelors and/or relative work experience? I think I heard somewhere that CFA® requires undergraduate studies to be complete but I'm not a 100% sure

Yes, in order to hold the designation you need a UG degree but you can take the first level of each while you are still in UG.
Nice, I have an extremely easy year next year(done with major..just gotta take BS classes now to fulfill credits and bump up GPA) so I'm planning on taking my GMATS and either the first level of CAIA or the CFA
CAIA L1 is easier...I would have a hard time seeing someone doing the GMAT and Level 1 of the CFA effectively while taking classes full time and working/doing an internship (which I recall you do from a previous thread)
My internship is for this year..im a junior right now so I was referring to senior year on when I would want to take the level 1 of CAIA or CFA. First round of GMAT I am planning on taking during spring break and second round during the summer so its still spaced out
No way you're doing GMAT and CFA Level 1 simultaneously.
As stated above, it will be spread out. I'm studying for the GMATs right now and will be taking them during spring break and start of the summer session. CFA or CAIA I would want to take them during senior year.
CFA is infinitely more valuable than the CAIA but make sure you can handle the weight of the work you're taking on

FYI -- You do it all in one sitting.
As in I would want to take them twice, regardless of what my score is

Anyone have both designations? I'm sitting for the L1 CFA on Saturday. Assuming I pass, I will have to wait until next June to take L2. That gives me 5 months or so until I begin studying, so I was thinking about getting started with the CAIA? I have been planning on taking it after I complete the CFA as I am trying to get into alternative investments/hedge funds. Is taking them somewhat concurrently over aggressive? I am a recent grad trying desperately to get an analysit position in IB/AM/research with no avail, so I think I need to pad my resume a bit. B-school is an option, but not for a couple years. Seeing that I have this time before L2, should I go fo the CAIA? How intense is the program in comparison to the CFA? I studied for the CFA during my last quarter of undergrad and handled it fine. Any more input about CAIA?
