Coin flip made me better at life.
I know right? What do you mean by coin flip? Like am I gonna decide to take a job or not on a coin flip? Am I gonna decide to marry some girl entirely based on what is possibly a 50/50 chance? Hey why not decide to have children based on who starts the offensive on some football match?
But seriously I mean more along the lines of "what am I gonna eat for lunch?", "should I buy this pair of shoes or not", or whatever other minor decision you need to make that you're indecisive about or you're thinking about doing on impulse. Something which the worst consequences will set you back couple hundred bucks, couple more visits to the bathroom in a day or two, or maybe even something that'd get you slapped across the face by some girl. But nothing that'll seriously get you into trouble.
I started doing this a year back to make my life easier as I'm a perpetually indecisive when it comes to small things. I realized that the best consequences compound over time and eventually make your life better.
Let me elaborate. You're at a bar with your buddies. You're having a pretty shit day and your buddies forced you to down 1 drink at the least. You're sitting alone while your buddies are having fun flirting woth some girls they met or getting hammered. Maybe you want to leave but maybe if you stay for a bit longer, you might meet the love of your life. You're just not sure. Welp here we go, heads you stay. Tails you leave. Either way, you won't have to regret any decision you made. God (or for you atheists and agnostics out there, maybe it's the world collectively making a decision for you) just made a decision for you. You're just going with the flow. You don't have to worry about what if. If something bad happens, you learn to deal with it. If something good happens, then good for you!
Apply the above with any situation, should I grab that sandwich or not. Should I walk into that store or not. Should I talk to her or not. Etc....
You just watch Batman or something?
I did this a couple months ago to debate going to see an old girl who lived far away. Heads was go, it was heads. Wasn’t the worst decision I ever made. It does have a weird effect of easing stress and like you said, helps with indecisiveness
Stole her away at her own wedding?
My gf is gonna kill me when she finds out this is how I decided on our relationship.
Heads you tell her, Tails you don't
My watch has a coin flip feature and it’s pretty fun to just use that. Really does help with the small decisions and not overthink them lol
I’d just keep flipping until the coin concurs.
Harvey Dent has entered the chat.
Drop the mic. /thread
i do this sometimes, but only really to tell how i feel about something. If I don't like the result then I just do the opposite.
This is a really good take.
Heads I'll start doing this tails I won't
I used to do that for small decisions where I got lock-up, such as what flavour of ice cream to choose. Until I was told it was autistic and then I stopped lmao
Is that what Brian used the dice for?
