all i can say is read the paper that morning so you have something to talk about when prompted, don't talk too much, be friendly, and hope there's some music/radio to listen to. Or better yet, bring something to read / study and politely ask if she minds if you work on that during the ride (she won't)
Let your boss lead the conversation, listen as much as possible, and ask follow up questions. Sprinkle a few anecdotes to appear interested in the topic. Smile when talking if you're seeking a laugh. Finally, be comfortable with silence; it happens, it's okay.
For some reason this made me laugh. I'd totally relate if I was in your position, haha. Just bring something else, like a book, and before you start reading say something like, you should read it; i've started and now i can't stop.' You could also let her lead the convo, as the guys above had suggested.
