Corp Dev vs Investment Banking

Long time lurker on here. I wanna thank all the regular posters, you have helped me in so many ways both personally and academically. Anyways I graduated this year from a non-target finance (but a target Engineering). Was a double major in Engineering & Economics. Solid GPA, a varsity sport and multiple leadership positions at school, multiple internships, part time job while going to school. It was tough at first, but eventually I quit the varsity team, settled into my routine and got used to always being busy. Thought I wanted to be a consultant, had a couple offers from Big4 firms, a research analyst offer from a BB, another one from a boutique firm, one from a national lobbying firm, a couple engineering offers (the lowest of the bunch -- so much for high engineering $), and a corp strategy/dev offer (paid the most, great culture. Only knock was that it was in an awful location). Ended up taking the corp dev at the F500 and started literally the Monday after I was done my last final. More than a month in, and I am absolutely bored. I report directly to a director instead of manager, and she recently mentioned to a VP (in front of me) I was the best hire they'd made in a while. However, I have to hold myself back, because everything is super slow paced at work & I'm not used to this. Add to that the less than ideal location, and honestly my weeks are super boring. Wonder whether exit opps to IBD/Consulting are ever possible? And when's the best time for me to exit? Two years down? Three? A year? My dad thinks I should stay there, and thinks with the director's push, I can climb the corporate ladder. I think it's sound advice, but I would still like to know what my future options are. Anyone been in a similar situation before/have some advice?
