Could China possibly produce something not couterfit. I mean shit. A country that once built a wall that has lasted centuries has now been reduced to knock off baby formula and condoms.
And Ghana has a FDA? Wow, I am shocked.
people really still use condoms?
We had an intern from China last summer and it really cracked me up the way he described the general mentality over there in 2 words: COPY PASTE
It's like they literally wait for the US and rest of world to innovate and create with new ideas and then immediately try to duplicate a cheaper or straight up counterfeit version. Seems like they don't have one ounce of creativity.
The counterfeiting process actually does require quite a bit of creativity. I mean, would you think to make soy sauce from human hair? I know I wouldn't.
I blame it on the current government adminstration. They don't respect copyright and patents. Why do you think smart chinese PHDs keep wanting to come to the USA?
Are you really connecting patents and innovation? There are great natural experiments that show how destructive and useless IP is. In the EU there are no software patents, I guess there must be no software innovation!!!
I said they don't respect copyrights and patents, you see knock-offs of everything and the government doesn't do jackshit to protect the original idea. Would you put in the time and money to develop a product when you know that once it is completed, there will be knock offs on the street corner? Patents are there to protect the original idea not the copycats. If you mean the copycat version of innovations, yes China has THEM.
I don't connect patent and innovation but I believe that incentives drive the innovation. If Chinese government can't protect my idea, I will take it to the US where I can get a better return on my idea.
From a pure profit standpoint though, it is arguable that copiers are more profitable then innovators. Maybe China doesn't have it backwards.
I suppose. That is until there is a backlash or you actually need to be an innovator. And how about making a decent copy. Japan started out as a low cost manufacturer also, but advanced into making high quality items. China seems to be slow rolling that process.
Even Chinese people don't trust Chinese products. A great article in B week about the black market for baby formula.
What else should you expect from the Chinese. They would sell themselves if they could for a profit. Just money hungry. Call me a racist or whatever you want idgaf.
Enjoy....
Awesome !
