Cozy commercial banking job or more ambitious?

Hello fellow monkeys

I'm currently an account manager at a regional bank without real international presence. Officially, I'm a relationship manager, but in reality it's more of a customer service job with occasionally some interesting deals (think export finance or some lending). My clients have a turnover between EUR 1mio - 80mio. I'm work around 30h per week max. According to management, I always exceed expectations, but there's no real promotion coming soon (maybe after 6 years' time I will become team lead).

All in all, my current setup is quite easy, I have a good paying job and not many responsibilities. On the other hand, I have no future prospects and I really suck at parts of my job, e.g. credit analysis (however no-one seems to care or no-one even notices it lol).

Now I'm actually thinking of moving to a different regional bank to get some more experience and maybe more interesting clients, but I really can't meet requirements mentioned in the job postings (no credit knowledge, no syndicated lending knowledge, no real network in professional circles,...).

So currently I'm in a pickle and not sure what to do. On the one hand I feel like staying in my current role and to keep leeching, but on the other hand there's this drive to gain more status and more importance (although it's not guaranteed at the other bank).

What would you do? Go for the new challenge or stay in a comfy position?
