I don’t really qualify as “diversity” but I’m a first generation college student. Curious to know if any of the diversity programs for IB are open to first gen students?

1st gen doesn’t count, even if you’re from one of the poorest countries in the world with no representation in high finance, if your country is in Asia, it doesn’t count.
Only black, latin, women, lghdtv, and in some cases veteran (only deserving one imo) count.
And it’s always kids of some fund managers that get through the diversity programs, never the poor black kid with a 3.9 GPA who worked his ass off.
Liberals would rather help Kate/Becky from Greenwich, CT (Horace Mann/Trinity/Nobles) rather than help a white/asian/indian male from a middle class background. It's the same people who preach about diversity btw...I couldn't imagine voting democrat and enabling any of this. I yearn for the day when diversity is done strictly on the basis of income. Just make sure to check your privelege bc if your white than there must be some sYsTemIc raCisM that has benefited you. And if you complain, be careful bc liberals will scream racist at you.
Also a first gen kid who went thru recruitment this past cycle. Some firms seem more open while some are more black and white. It won’t help you get into the programs but older MD’s seem to love a come up story, so your best bet is to get on the phone with them
Probably doesn't count although it should. Diversity should be based purely on socioeconomic and not race. Congratulations on being the first college student in your family though, that's really awesome!
