Let me guess diversity intern ? You should be fine if you are
///
Lmaoooo Girl = diversity
Sorry to break the news to you, hopefully you’re hot and provide some eye candy to the office
:::::
Lmao this is a man’s world sweetheart, always has been
Do you not have email set up on your phone? You’ll be fine just but you shouldn’t be missing emails that come in at reasonable hours…
we use outlook and i have BYOB and they told us to not download any microsoft apps on out phones.
I know i totally understand that it's a mistake from my part i just don't know what to do right now to fix it.
JFYI, you can still access outlook via web browsers (safari, chrome) if you aren't allowed to DL outlook app and access. Only problem is you won't be getting notifications, but at least you can still check emails once in a while without having to be on your laptop.
First job jitters, nothing else. Calm down and focus on your work
I wouldn't worry about it - you're going to make far bigger mistakes through your career. Not trolling, the stakes get higher and even top MDs make mistakes but theirs is more like 'why did I take this buyside mandate that took all my resources and forced my juniors to quit and we're nowhere close to hitting the bid'

It's your first week, stuff happens. Expectations are very low for interns, and the things you mentioned are pretty normal even for top-performing ones.
The important thing now is not to make the same mistakes again. The learning curve is steep, but they want you to show that you are progressing. As long as you do that, you'll be fine. Maybe you won't work with the same analysts again, but you'll have plenty other opportunities to win other people on your side. Do not stress and enjoy the journey!
That’s kinda crazy that you can’t get notifications on your phone? They just expect u to be on ur laptop checking email every hour? There must be a way to get work notifs on your phone
Calm down and take a breath. It's not the end of the world. Just be more vigilant next time. You still have time. Just make them count.
You're fine. Apologize in person. Then go to the tech center first thing Monday and get your phone set up - either get a temp phone or gert yourself situated on your current phone. generally for 1 thing like this that you apologize for... people are not looking to ruin your return offer for this.
The other analyst is no big deal, interns are expected to make unlimited numbers of mistakes in early work especially in week 1. Showing improvement is much more important.
Take a deep breath. For one, this was an email on a Friday night. Unless this is a tight deadline, I doubt that you not answering until the next morning is a big deal. If it is, the culture at your group seems tough. Interns are expected to make a ton of mistakes. That’s not what they are measured by. You will be measured by the improvements that you make throughout the summer, something like this in the first couple weeks is nothing to sweat over. The fact that this worries you says that you care, which is important. Continue to care, ask good questions, work diligently, and you will be fine. As another commenter said, you will make much bigger mistakes during your career, the important thing is to learn from them and to try not to repeat them. Enjoy your summer as an intern.

1. Don't worry - if you are good, one little slip up isn't going to matter. Just make sure it doesn't happen again and keep your eye on the ball. Continue to be a helpful resource to the team and by the end they won't even remember this, unless you yourself make a big deal out of it.
2. Strange you don't have a corporate phone with outlook? Maybe depends on the firm
3. I recently started a YT channel, if you are serious about continuing to be in IBD and getting up to speed / coming back as a strong Analyst, I'll have a ton of vids on turning the real IBD world inside out (you'll find a lot of the other channels are run by folks who only did a summer or analyst stint, or not even IBD like WM at GS). Hope this can be a helpful resource for you

FYI - they YT link seems dead
Another thing... when I was an intern I would always bring my laptop to HH (and out to nightclubs... sad times) just in case. Culture wise if its weird at your firm or whatever maybe don't need to, but in my class it was fairly common so food for thought
Sounds like Citi. Just download the apps and stay updated. You will be fine tho, its the first week
Shit happens. I’m sure you’ll now obsessively check your email so problem solved. Like the director on this said, you’ll make plenty of higher impact mistakes throughout your career. As long as you don’t come off defensively after recognizing the mistake you should be ok.
