Career Resources
Yes, I spoke to an MD from HL at a careers event and he said he likes to fuck around on here when work is slow.
A lot of MDs that started as an analyst are only in their early to their mid 30s. Would imagine some of them do.
I check every now and then…lol I joined this site as a summer analyst
Don’t you have like actual deals to worry about though?
Yeah he does deals 24/7 and slaps his son whenever he wants attention and he hasn’t had sex in 14 months because of the deals. He even missed his mom funeral to finish his 1.4b deal last week and he did it with a smile!!!
You’re right. Taking a few minutes out of his day to look at different websites can really kill a deal.
What I want to know is how many users with a Sub 10K user ID number are still posting actively.
Doubt there's too many. I've been here almost 12 years and I'm still 6 digits - 129,571. Brofessor is 173,026 it looks like. Illini is 27,424. Eddie is 16,325.
Comp is the only one I know sub at 3,119. He had a few return posts a month or so ago.
Well, you know two people. I'm 9,690. Keep in mind I'm in Semi-retirement and I've been a member here for almost 17 years - fuck... I'm old. I remember back when it was IBOasis. I'll pop up here and there, but yeah, I'm not surprised at how few people there are in that sub-200K space too.
30k here checking in
This really puts into perspective how things changed in a way I haven't thought about in a long time.
idk how this makes sense though cuz I'm showing as ~335K but my first comment was 14 years ago...
I somehow have 5 digit user ID... damn I'm getting old.
Just wondering, where can one find their user ID on WSO, and what is the significance of it being sub 10k for example?
Your user id is in your profile. If you click on the URL, you can see it. The significance of being sub-10K is really about how old you are (and how long you've been a member). Basically, it's the folks who were here from the beginning and remember a lot of the real early days of the Wild West of WSO
I'm 13K, ~16 years
It's nice to see someone else on the old side still on here :)
Are you VP or MD?
I joined a different finance forum in the late 2000s, but it is pretty much dead now.
