Do you take ubers on the weekend evenings?

Say you're going from chelsea to LES on a weekend evening, do you take ubers, bus or subway? I usually take subway to work as my office is just a few stops away from where I live but on weekends if I need to make less convenient commutes I'm inclined to take uber / lyft.

What do you guys do?

Based on previous WSO threads, the choice between Uber, bus, or subway for weekend evening travel in NYC often depends on a few factors like convenience, cost, and personal preferences. Here's what you might consider:

  • Uber/Lyft: These services offer convenience and comfort, especially if you're traveling late at night or if the subway route is less direct. They can be quicker for less convenient commutes, but they're also more expensive, especially during surge pricing times.

  • Subway: It's typically the most cost-effective option and runs 24/7, which is great for the city that never sleeps. However, weekend service can be unpredictable due to maintenance and construction work, so it's wise to check the MTA website for any service changes.

  • Bus: Buses can be a good middle ground, especially if they run directly to your destination without many stops. They might be slower due to traffic, but you'll get to see the city along the way.

Many finance professionals in NYC might opt for the subway on a regular day due to its speed and low cost, but don't mind splurging on an Uber for those weekend evenings when they're dressed up and heading to a nice dinner or social event. It's all about what works best for you at the time!
