Do/Don't - Weightlifting Stats in CV
I have no idea if the previous threads on this are satire or not, but I have decent stats on some lifts (130kg bench and 200kg squat). Would this be a net benefit to put this on my CV or is it just weird?
Also have the same question about Chess Elo.
This is for London if that makes any difference.
You should definitely include these metrics, though personally I'd be self-conscious about benching less than 3 plates. Can you run a bulk cycle prior to recruiting to maximize figures? If possible, try to get a dexa scan so you can include your body weight, body fat % and basal metabolic rate to provide the hiring team with sufficient context.
A brother can’t get any serious advice these days 😂
feedback is serious. Its possible that your bench will be viewed negatively given sub 3 plates. Should likely run a bulk. Helpful context that youre in London, which tends to have weaker benches on average than Americans. Partly the reason why we beat the brakes off the Brits in 1775.
How about penile dimensions? Are those stats welcome?
Strength training is my biggest hobby and I’d definitely engage with candidates that list it on their resume. That said, if somebody listed a 290 bench and 440 squat, I’d think they’re on the spectrum.
I think it's fine to include but the weights are just too low to be worthwhile IMO. No offense.
I'm assuming your deadlift is higher than your squat. Just put "1000 pound club" maybe?
You can put a line that you competitively weight lift or power lift but those are rookie numbers, you need to pump those numbers up
Tism 🚨
Do it. Most people will think you’re crazy for putting those out but can’t hurt and a few people will love the originality
You probably shouldn't include the stats unless you weigh like 75kgs. You're very strong compared to 99% of people, but the 1% of people that care might not be terribly impressed. I like the 1,000 pound club or just putting powerlifting or strength training as an interest.
If you don't have high lifting stats including them not advised. Think about it like GPA - nobody gives a fuck about your low #s and they can only hurt your first impression, the only point in including it is if you're a cut above most.
Depends what Elo are you??
Why would anyone brag about benching 285, much less put it on their resume?
del
If I saw that, I'd have respect for you. But unfortunately 99% of finance dudes are pencil necks who are jealous of people who have the discipline to take care of themselves, not just sit behind adesk and take zyns
As others have said, numbers aren't impressive enough to include. I would just put Powerlifting under interests. Im sitting at 280 / 425 / 500. I wouldn't include numbers unless I was around >350 / >500 / >600
